traded snow for sunshine

The hotel we stayed in is pretty fun. They bring breakfast to your room and it’s practically on the beach.

Sushi for lunch, it’s not as easy to eat while holding a baby, but she’s worth it.

I can’t believe how many small shells cover the beach.

There’s some palm trees!

The slave market is still there, a sad reminder of slavery. The enslaved African's were bought and sold here, and even though it makes me sad, it also makes me happy that our country has made progress. It’s far from perfect, but hopefully we continue to love and help all human beings.

Every place seems to have their own sodas.

I can’t get over the thickness of trees here!

It’s funny because Florida is known for their oranges, but AZ citrus is way better.

Jacksonville

We arrived in Lake City, Laun’s favorite area from his mission. He served here twice, so around 11 months total! This is the church, he was so happy to see it again.

We went to the trailer park where he lived. He lived in such a variety of places.

I love that I now have an image to go in my mind with all the missionary experiences he’s shared.

We took this cool road, hoping to find some people Laun knew as a missionary. Regal Dicks was the bishop when Laun was a missionary and he raises cattle. No wonder Laun liked him so much! We found him feeding his cows. We visited with him and his wife tonight, in their home and they invited us for Sunday dinner.
