Shriner’s & Art
Carter had an appointment at Shriner’s today to get some new foot braces that fit a little tighter. We were in such a rush this morning to get on the road, that we never ate breakfast, so we ate at the cafeteria. I love seeing Carter progress and move so much, what an answer to prayers.
And Marlee continues to come home with the cutest work from school.

proud mom
Marlee is the student of the week, next week. She came home with the poster and did it all by herself. The only thing she asked me was how to spell some words. So proud of her! I loved all her responses, just darling!
In case it’s hard to read:
Fav color- pink
my pet-dog
I’m a star because- sing, reading, baking & helping
places I’ve been- Arizona & beach
When I grow up I want to be a- Mom
fav food- sushi
my fav thing to do in school- everything
And Carter’s cuteness never seems to cease, he’s cute even when he eats. He pretty much only ate his “mit” (what he calls meat) and some sugar cookie for lunch today.
I went to Porter and Clayton’s parent teacher conferences today and I left feeling so proud of my boys. They are getting good grades, trying hard and behaving in class. They both are teacher assistants and the teachers they help just raved about what a great help they are. Many of their teachers mentioned how enjoyable they are to have in class and how smart they are. I’m especially proud of Clayton, who wants to be done with band (but we want him to stick it out for the rest of this school year) and has decided to have a better attitude about it and practice the french horn often. He usually wakes up around 5:30 am to practice the french horn, so he can have more free time after school. So proud of him for being that motivated. And Porter’s Science teacher told me how bright he is and how he asks college level questions. Of course, I already know how smart and great my boys are, but it’s nice to know the teachers see it, too.

He is two!!
My friend Corrine has a boy that share’s Carter’s birthday, so she dropped off some balloons and they were a huge hit. He wanted them first thing in the morning and kept walking around with them and saying “balls”. He also loved playing peek-a-boo with them.
This kid loves oatmeal, so that was his breakfast. He loves warm cereal. He also liked getting his milk poured from a cow, with his big brother Clayton’s help.
Porter went to 3 dairies with Laun and one of them had a pet deer.
Laun and Porter got home after lunch time, so instead of Carter going on a birthday lunch with dad, he got some m&m’s and skittles.
Since we weren’t feeling well on Valentines (I’m still feeling crummy with a cold) we put off our fondue dinner until tonight. Works well for a birthday meal, too.
Marlee labeled and colored on Carter’s present. I love that she wants to help me.
These two melt my heart, they are great buds, both obsessed with cows. Carter really liked his books.
He got a bowling set and I was glad he enjoyed it so much.
He got some animal puzzles and made some really cute expressions when he saw them.
He loves balls, so I was excited to find small ones that he can easily grip.
With not feeling well and Carter not being old enough to care about me making a cake, I opted for the easy dessert, donuts.
He was so cute blowing out the candles, I had Laun light them twice, just so we could see it again.
He makes the funniest face when he says “hot” for fire.
And that is the one and only bite he took, so glad I didn’t make a cake!
All he cared about was his gifts. Here he is asking Laun where they went.
For the rest of the night he was in new toy-book heaven.
2 Things I love about Carter:
1. He is perfect (at least we all think so). Perfectly rotten.
2. He is tough and sweet. He’s been through so much, yet remains happy.
It is hard to only mention 2 things, but I mention however many years they’ve turned. We love you Carter, more than words can describe. You are pure joy and we all adore you and the happiness you bring to our home and family. Happy Birthday sweet boy. I still can’t believe you are already 2 and technically a toddler. How is my baby a toddler already?! Love you!

sick boy
Poor Carter has been sick with the runs. And I mean the runs, like leaking out, lots of laundry and baths runs. It’s been bad. Luckily, he’s been pretty happy still and seems hydrated. This is one of his many baths he’s had over the last couple days.
You can see most of his incision at this angle.
His poor little bum is red and he was crying and crying tonight, so I held him and he fell right asleep. Maybe he just wanted me to hold him for his last night as a 1 year old:( How is my baby already turning 2 tomorrow?
Laun is visiting a dairies in Duchesne, Utah tomorrow. He drove out their tonight and Porter went with him (willingly missing school, that’s a big deal for him). They stayed in a hotel and Porter was happy to get some swimming in. I was happy that Laun didn’t have to travel alone. When Laun’s out of town, the boys like to sleep upstairs on the couch, so that is where Clayton slept tonight. I wish our house had all the bedrooms on the same level, I like being close to my kids.
