Thanksgiving 2011

This year we hosted Thanksgiving at our home. We had my parents and 4 out of 5 of my siblings and their families here in Tucson. It was much less tiring then last time we hosted it-last time I was prego with Marlee. Call me weird but I actually like hosting Thanksgiving-no packing or traveling, it's kind of nice. We had two turkeys & all the fixin’s. My favorite (along with the bee’s favorite) was Andy & Elizabeth’s homemade canned grape juice with sprite-it was the best grape juice I have ever had and reminded Laun of the juice he drank growing up. Later we enjoyed pies and skyped with my brother Richard’s family. Most of the family’s stayed over night too. It was perfect because the next day they babysat our kiddos while Laun and I went Black Friday shopping and almost finished off the Christmas list!

My camera was acting up, so that explains the lack of pictures.

My dad brought this cool jello that some one from work made for him. It was very fancy and the flower part is all edible-the prettiest jello I’ve ever seen…

Rachel & Brandon’s little Lydia insisted on wearing Laun’s cowboy boots. I think she has the same shoe fetish that Marlee has. Lydia is such a cutie and is so lucky to look like her mama.

Laun was so sick of looking at this eye sore (see below) that he had me ask the realtor if we could remove it & paint the wood paneling. They said yes & he had the sucker removed the same day.

Porter’s last soccer game for the season…

We always love to watch our kids play sports. This was a really fun season to watch and this was Porter’s last game.

  

 

Porter is like the energizer bunny-he just keeps going and going! The best thing about Port is that he doesn’t take junk from anyone. Players on the other team would push him and he would push them back, he has no problem keeping his own. He feels no intimidation on the field and is constantly keeping everyone else on their toes.

 

 

I love Porter’s determined face-he is pretty serious when he plays.

Award Ceremony for Soccer…

Here is Porter’s team all lined up to get their trophy’s. Porter might be the shortest of his team (and the oldest), but he is sure the fastest and the toughest. Porter got a fortune once that read: Its not the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog. I can’t think of a quote that better sums up Porter than that one. This kid has unwavering determination.

 

Clayton with his team and trophy in hand. Clayton had a great season. He had fun with his team members and they became friends fast. This kiddo always makes lots of friends where ever he goes. His season is not quite over though, they still have the tournament coming up. I can’t wait for it…watching Clay play soccer is so fun. He is aggressive and fast. He has really loved soccer this year.

 

Every team had one player that got selected by their coach to earn the good sportsman ship award. Porter was selected by his coach and he got a special metal to wear around his neck…he was pretty excited. They have all the players selected for good sportsman ship award take a photo together. Porter is near the bottom right in the photo.

 

The boys both really liked their coaches this year. I love that Clayton wanted to do some cheesy pose and his coach totally goes along with it-haha.

 

This was a great season for both boys. I’m so excited for next year because the boys will be on the same team!

We’ve been to Peter Piper twice recently for the boys soccer team celebrations and Marlee is hooked. So Laun & I took her there the other day for lunch. I just love how excited she gets.

It is never a good thing when you can’t find Marlee or when she tells you that she is doing nothing. Laun found her trying to break into the boys treasure chest- this girl cracks me up.

Show Low trip

Laun& Jamie went to Show Low since all the cows left- freedom! They went horse back riding.
