Shriners

Carter saw his orthopedic surgeon today at Shriners. Marlee was happy to come along.

They like the chipmunk statues.

Carter was loving this chair, just his size.

He got some braces today for his feet, to help him be more stable and encourage him to stand and walk. His feet are flat and curve inward, which makes it harder for him to learn how to walk. Porter’s feet were the same way and he took awhile to grasp walking. They have these massive tennis shoes, that remind me of cabbage patch shoes, that the braces can fit in.

The braces are just white plastic w/ Velcro.  They give him a arch and hold his ankle in the right position. He still wears his hip brace at night while he sleeps.

summer days

Laun had a rough day at work, but he managed to make it through-wink wink. He went with clients to Strawberry Reservoir and spent his day fishing off a pontoon boat.

Carter is a tease…he will make sure Clayton & Porter wake up whether they want to or not:

Carter & I accidently matched for church today & it was adorable.

Brandon & Rachel headed home today, it was fun having them.

I love sleeping babies.

We went to the Johnsons for dinner & then joined them at the Riverton Rodeo.

Carter loves climbing up & down this ledge in their kitchen.

Brent threw out some t-shirts to the crowd, the kids were so excited to see him.

EJ & the bigger boys all got a $1.

Sweet Aunt Paige gave Marlee a $1 too & the girls went & bought some jewelry.

Carter loves cotton candy & we tried our first funnel cake.

The kids had fun watching the rodeo clown, barrel racing & bull riding.

home is good

I made nutter butter cookies today & they were so good.

Clayton learned a good lesson today…there’s a difference between dish soap and dishwasher soap. He’s been washing dishes for years and this is the first time he spaced and used dish soap. I did the same thing when Laun and I were dating.

I love baby kisses and snuggles.

Laun brought home sparklers and the kids were pretty happy about it.

Brandon and Rachel are in town for a wedding and we are happy they stayed with us. They’ve had fun playing air hockey with Brandon.

Laun looked up the birthday present he wants to buy me on his phone and showed Carter. Everyone could see it, except for me, but it must be good because Carter’s reaction is so great.

A hint…it says moo.

33 years young

Laun was out of town for work last night, I woke up to this view in the morning…the three older kids crashed in my bedroom:

I love taking off Carter’s brace each morning.

He always stretches his legs out.

Today I turned 33 and Laun forgot. He kept thinking the 24th was tomorrow for some reason, probably from traveling for work. Clayton told him around dinner time that it was my birthday and he thought it was tomorrow, so funny! He’s never done that before and I enjoyed an impromptu dinner of hot pot (we weren’t very impressed w/ the restaurant) and cupcakes.
