Laun’s brother Brandon came to town. We had a great time chatting with him.   

Now that Carter is out of his body cast, he can go in the sandbox!

He thought that was a dumb idea (at first):

Sensory overload for a baby who’s had his legs covered for so long.

Porter fed Carter one of my cupcakes and gave him a shovel and that calmed him down.

After that he decided the sandbox was great, which is good since we go to the beach next month.

I got this yummy  chocolate cream cheese cupcake recipe from my Aunt Lola.

Marlee and Porter decided to make a colored lava explosion in the sandbox. I love when these two get along because they’ll get creative.

club soccer

The boys club soccer tryouts were this week. They took a year off from soccer with all the moving and so we were hoping they still made a team.

Clayton’s tryouts were nuts- it hailed, snowed and rain. When the weather got more severe they all huddled under the tent and then went out again!

We got phone calls from the soccer coaches and both Porter and Clayton made the cuts! They are on club soccer! Clayton is on U14 & Porter is on U12. Our lease is up soon, so now we just need to find a place to live that isn’t too far, so they can both play!

last day of school-first night of summer

Clayton’s last day of 7th grade! I can’t believe he’ll be an 8th grader.

Porter’s last day of 6th grade. These boys have gone to 3 schools this year!

Porter had his 6th grade graduation, which is funny because in Tucson the elementary school goes up to 5th grade, so he’s already had a promotion from elementary school. For half the school year he was in junior high and then when we came to Utah he was back in elementary school. He was fine either way, with middle school or elementary, but I don’t think he was too happy about sitting through 2 promotions. And Clayton didn’t ever have an elementary school graduation because of timing.

After school we headed to Porter’s friends house, Davis Paxton. His mom has a tradition every year where on the last day of school her and some other moms invite any kids over for ice cream cones. I love this tradition!

Porter has a great group of friends.

Laun and I went to the Provo Temple tonight, starting the summer off right.

Lindsie is a saint and babysat our kids while we went to the temple. We brought back some BYU Creamery ice cream. And Brandon also came to town!

walking in the rain

Carter, Marlee and I took a walk in the rain. Carter was in his stroller with the shade over him, but he still got wet. There’s something magical about walking in the rain.

Carter had his yearly check up today, over 3 months late. It’s kind of hard to do a normal appointment in a body cast, so that is why we waited. Seeing his little body cast free still gets me. I want to cry of happiness when I see his cute body. When you go so long without seeing your babies torso all the way down to their toes (at one point) it’s hard. Seeing him in just a diaper I couldn’t help myself but to take a ton of pictures.

He kept pointing at the animal pictures. And I adore his little pointer finger.

This kid has a big noggin on a little body.

He’s so darling! His stats aren’t that surprising. He’s in the 90% for head size and the 4% in height and weight. He’s taking after his brother Porter in so many ways! He is healthy and happy and we are so grateful.

I wish you could tell, but he had the cutest band aids with Hulk and Spiderman after he got his immunizations.

We took the kids out of school early. Well actually, I got a phone call around lunch time from Porter asking if I’d pick him up, since they were doing make up work for the rest of the day and he didn’t have any. After I picked him up he told me that he asked his friend if he could use his phone and take it to the bathroom to call his mom, and several of his friends thought that was a great idea. Anyways, the teacher was surprised when all these moms came to pick up their boys early, haha. What a sneaky boy. If Porter got out early we figured Clayton should, too. So we took them all out to Barry’s, a hamburger place, for lunch.
