sweater dogs are afraid of guns

Tonight we took Raggles with us to go shooting & have a campfire dinner. She’s small enough that we let her ride in the truck with us & she took turns sitting on everybody’s lap.

This is a typical sight lately: Porter working on the Rubik's cube (Uncle Jonathan has been teaching him how to solve the puzzles) & Marlee sucking her thumb.

Marlee has been loving Snow White…that’s what she calls Raggles.

Raggles loves Laun- not only is Laun the favorite with our kids, but now the dog, too!

We went to Redding ton Pass & stopped at one of the shooting spots.

This is about all we saw of the dog before the shooting started…

Once the guns went off Raggles jumped in our truck. Not only do we have a sweater dog & lap dog, but now we have a dog that is afraid of guns.

We shot at clay pigeons  & targets. Jonathan, Darleen, Lucy & Jeff came with us tonight.

Laun’s turn

Even I took a turn…I don’t like the loud guns that kick. I would have preferred to shoot a 22. I’m going to have to work on my aim.

Darleen getting some help from Clayton. It is funny that Clayton & Porter know more about guns than Darleen & I. Marlee hardly ever leaves Darleen’s side.

An appearance by Raggles, actually I took her out of the truck & closed the doors, so she couldn’t get back in. In our family we are all about facing our fears, so Raggles is going to have to get used to guns:)

Clayton is loving his I pad. The boys have a French app & have been learning a new word in French everyday. So far they’ve learned how to say mom, dad, friend, bed & living room in French.

The kids also love the game temple run. Look how well Clayton’s leg is healing!

Sometimes I feel like they are just growing up so fast, but than again, they were doing the same type of thing six years ago in 2007.

Happy Clayton Day!

Sometimes being the oldest child is rough…or at least that’s what I’ve heard. Clayton is such a great helper & does so much for his younger siblings. Laun came up with the idea of surprising Clayton with a Happy Clayton Day to show him how much we love & appreciate him. Laun made this little sign & put it up before Clayton came into the living room. Clayton was surprised & happy.

To start off the day we went to one of Clayton’s favorite spots:

One of the goodies he picked out was the Napoleon (it is one of our favorites- so good).

We got some pastries, bread & other treats.

For breakfast we ate our pastries Turley style- we cut the pastries up in pieces so that everyone could try them all.  

Laun surprised Clayton by taking him to get an I pad, but said he has to share it with his mom:) He is excited & has already added some App’s, like: some games & one to learn French. He is going to learn a new French word everyday & Porter is going to do it with him. He can also use it to do his homework. Who knows, maybe he will actually be excited to do his school work now.

Clayton earned some movie tickets for participating  in the reading Book It program through school. I took all the kids to see the movie Parental Guidance. It is about some grandparents who go babysit their grandkids-it was so funny.

I think we made Clayton’s day. We love you Clayton & we are so blessed to have you as part of our family.

Genghis grill

Tonight I took just the boys out to a restaurant they really like, Genghis Grill. It is a Mongolian BBQ-stir fry place. They are growing up fast & I want to spend as much time with them as I can. Before I know it they will be all grown up.

They ordered some pina colada drinks (I love to get virgin pina coloda’s & they love them now, too).

They like it when the cooks make a fire.

I had a great time & loved their funny conversation.
