Nine Years!

The night before we went to the Mesa Temple together & did sealings- which is the temple we were married in. We went to Outback Steakhouse for lunch that day.

Laun & I just celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary-time flies! I am so thankful for Laun & all the joy that he has brought into my life. We have had so many good times together & he has truly helped me to become a better & stronger person. Over the years we have been through so much together: schooling, jobs, moving, four children, health issues with Porter, losing Cooper, 2 surgeries, etc. Through all of this I was always blessed to have Laun by my side. Through our trials-especially when we lost Cooper, we have only grown closer to one another & more in love. Laun is an amazing husband & father & we all adore him. I am so grateful that we were sealed in the temple & that we can be an eternal family.

Spending time with family

Hanging out at moms house

We went with some of the Turley's to Pratts to look at animals

We went to Cerreta Chocolate factory & here are the kids standing in front of the chocolate Santa

My sister Laura LOVES Marlee

We went to part of the Mecham reunion- they did a program about my Grandma May Mecham, who passed away when I was young. Each child of Grandma May got up & said things they loved about her. This is my mom with her Dad & siblings. It was nice to see family.

I am one blessed Mom

We went to phoenix to spend time with my family. My parents do a nativity & Clayton was Joseph & Porter was a shepard.

Here is Marlee grabbing baby "Jesus" out of the basket

It is nice that the kids are getting old enough to entertain themselves. Here they are playing games & coloring.

Christmas

On Christmas morning we have the kids line up in the hall way from youngest to oldest. They probably look so tired because their Daddy woke them up bright & early. Laun gets so excited for Christmas that he can't wait for the kids to wake up on their own so, he goes & wakes them up himself.

The boys were excited to see what was in the apple box under the tree. Santa brought them bunnies. Clayton was wanting a dog but, he was excited & suprised to see bunnies instead. Before Christmas Clay was telling Laun that he wanted an animal so, Laun told him to ask Santa for one. Clayton's reply was," I don't think Santa delivers live animals."

Marlee thought this whole stocking thing was pretty cool. She really loved the candy & her first toothbrush. The kids get a mango in their stocking & even Marlee got baby food that was mangos.

Porter loves to "guchi" his sister as he calls it, he says it means soft & then squezzes her. I told him that gucci is a type of purse brand & he assures me it means soft.

The bunnies got names already: the white one (has a dark nose) is called pepper & the black one (has a white nose) is called salt, confusing- I know

I made sour cream coffee cake for the 1st time ever. Growing up my mom made this every Christmas morning for breakfast so, we decided to start the same tradition. We also had egg nog-my boys are always asking for this when we are at the store.

Marlee got a doll from Santa, I couldn't believe how cute she was with it. She got real excited & started making loud noises & then "talked" really soft & sweet to it. It is so different having a girl.

Here are the kids near the tree with their presents. The boys really liked their new pets, watches, & real tool set. Marlee loved her doll & necklace.

Some talented elf made this home for the bunnies.

Marlee wanted to touch the bunnies so much, we finally just put her in the cage with them.

Since the boys got new pets today, they let their lizards go in the backyard. Some of their lizards names are: Fatty, Champion, Speedo, Serious, Color Coral, Speedy, Super cool dude-new trick...

Then the guys checked out their garden & watered it

Then they built a bunny traveling cage with their new tools.

This cage came in very handy when we traveled to visit family for the holiday time.
We enjoyed the rest of the day hanging out & eating ham & one of the boys favorites, sweet potatoes with marshmalows on top. The boys said that this was the best Christmas ever- holidays are so fun with children.

Christmas Eve traditions old & new

It was so fun watching Marlee open up a present. She loved tearing the wrapping paper & tried eating it.

Their pj's were from Grandma Lucy & it was fun having her here to see the kids open them. Clayton got Spinderman, Porter got Mario, & Marlee got princess pj's.

The kids love Uncle Jonny

The kids got their boxing gloves out & even Marlee got a turn

Here is Jonathan putting Marlees gloves on

And here is Marlee "beating up" Uncle Jonathan

Treats for Santa & his reindeer

On Christmas Eve before the kids go to bed they open up pj's & wear them to bed that night. We also get each child their own ortament every year. And we read in the Bible about the birth of Jesus. Then we leave out treats for Santa & his reindeer. This year we started a new tradition for Christmas Eve dinner: we had prime rib-eye steaks, yummy side dishes, & apple sodas. Lucy & Jonathan came & joined us for the evening.

Here comes Santa Claus, Here comes Santa Claus

At this point Marlee was done staring at Santa & started crying & is trying to suck her thumb

Clayton asked Santa for a dog

Porter asked Santa for a transformer

If Marlee could speak english she would probably have asked who the heck is this guy- she could not stop staring at him, it was so cute

What a good looking bunch! I love taking little ones to see Santa because it is always fun to see how they react.

While waiting in line to see Santa, the boys amused themselves looking in this funny mirror:

Porter was laughing like crazy seeing his head all stretched long

I love when Clayton puts his arms around Porter like this- such a good big brother

I love this picture because Port has his hands in his pockets & Clayton is flexing his muscles, this is so them.
