growing up

Clayton had his yearly exam this morning. He is 5’5 and a half inches tall- what!?! That’s the 90th percentile for height. I can’t believe he is already taller than me. I’m excited to see how tall he grows. Everything is good, except for a mole on his back, so he will go to a plastic surgeon to get it removed.

I came home to this note from Porter- I love that not only is he telling me where he went, but that he includes “love you” on the note.

Porter’s white Cornish hen has gotten so big is was starting to have trouble walking, so sad. As fate has it, it was time to kill and eat it. It is sad to me, but also good because it is a learning experience. 

Laun helped Porter with the process, they de-feathered it and got all the meat off.

Maybe Carter doesn’t want to eat the Cornish hen, because I found him chewing on a kitchen chair.

Whenever I say yes, Carter shakes his head no and laughs.

Carter is convinced that Laun should hold him the entire time he’s home.

I found Laun mowing the yard while holding Carter.

I went and found the hiking pack and Carter fit in it, even in his body cast! It’s a good thing this cast doesn’t have a bar because otherwise I don’t think he would fit.

I wanted a try, so I mowed the back yard. I’m so grateful for my new hip and the progress I’ve made in the last 6 months since my replacement. I mowed the yard, while carrying a baby on my back!

charts & FHE

I got the idea of doing these check list charts from the blog 71 toes. I included chores, reading, scriptures, etc.

Marlee asked, “what’s my rewardment.”  I love how this girl talks, she’s always making us laugh.

For FHE we headed to Diamond Fork and Trent’s family joined us for dinner and fishing. Clayton was sick, so he stayed home.

Before we headed home, I spotted Porter talking to Carter. I love how all the kids adore that baby.

Clayton’s Sunday = service and treats

Clayton got to pass the sacrament at a retirement home and then make divinity with mom tonight. It’s so fun having an almost teenager.

Diamond Fork and Scofield

We took a drive to Diamond Fork Canyon to walk around, fish and picnic.

Carter loves donuts…

…and pork rinds (he gets that from everyone, but me).

Laun made tin foil dinners:

On our way to Scofield we stopped for some treats. Laun grabbed a soda and had all of us try it and guess the flavor. It was even more disgusting than it sounds!

I went on a walk with the little's, while the boys fished.

The girls took a turn to fish and Marlee was so excited for her catch.

I wasn’t so lucky.

But that’s okay with me because I had a really hot fishing instructor.

Carter demanded a turn after seeing the fish.

He must be a quick learner because he grabbed the pole in one hand and the reel in the other hand immediately.

Carter was pretty happy about his first catch ever!

We got home and I cleaned up and headed to the Provo temple, love this place.
