pink bathroom…and I mean pink

The house we are living in has a pink bathroom. Pretty much everything besides the paint & flooring are pink, it’s awful. Ironically, the boys think it is cool.

Anyways, the shower/tub came with no shower rod, so you couldn’t even hang up a curtain. Laun made a shower curtain rod out of copper and finally there is another non pink item in the room. I think it’s the coolest curtain rod I’ve ever seen.

how to keep a 4 year old busy until his big brother gets home from school?

Just buy him a cat…

It sort of looks like he’s choking the cat, but don’t worry, it’s alive and well.

fun day

Today I went with Porter to DI and found this wooden rocking chair for 5 bucks. Then we picked up Laun  and went out for Chinese food and then to a candy store. We got some big lollipops for the boys.

Porter loves alley cat.

328

I love how he’s so little that his legs  barely go over the edge of the bench.

329

There’s a house nearby that has elks. Lovelivinginthecountry.

1st grade

Today was Clayton’s first day of first grade. He is going to Pioneer Elementary and his teachers name is Mrs. Earl. He will normally take the school bus, but I wanted to drive him for his first day.

the tree trimming continues…

Today we measured the windows and priced out blinds. We also did yard work.

Wow, there is some ground behind all those trees…

…and a cement pad and picnic table.

Notice Laun’s wood pile starting to grow.

This fire pit will burn plenty of tree trimmings while we live here.

yard trimming= bonfire

There is a big wasp nest in one of our trees, so Laun put on his bee suit (that he got from Grandpa Turley-Bob) & took care of the problem.

Laun is going to have to put a metal roof on the house eventually. We are exchanging rent for house-yard work (10 hours a week). The Bensons pay for any necessary supplies & we do the labor. The pointy part of the house that the boys are near is the playroom.

The yard near the house is beautiful grass, but the side yard looks like this:

Laun started trimming this^ & we found a picnic table behind all those trees.

279

We are going to have a lot of yard work to keep us busy.

All this tree trimming means lots of bonfires & mallow roasting. The boys are loving it.
