grumpy eyes

Carter has been so grumpy today and lucky for me, I got to hold him on my lap while I got an eye exam. I think I deserve a mom medal…holding a squirmy baby in a body cast while trying to stay still for an eye exam is no easy task. I’m sure the eye doctor was just as happy as me when the exam was done, but hey, I’ve got to see!

spring time

I’m loving this sandal weather.

Cat phone 661

Carter has such cute sausage toes, just like Porter.

Cat phone 662

We are always so glad when Daddy comes home.

Laun was playing fetch with the dogs.

And often Dutch and Raggles would both be biting the ball.

The sand box is in full use.

I’m so proud of this young man, he just finished school soccer and now he joined track.

He’s home!

Laun said goodbye to Graham today and headed home.

Laun phone 702

I had the kiddos on my own at church today, which is strange because Laun usually takes Carter for me, unless Carter needs to nurse. Carter and I have spent many a Sunday in the mother’s lounge at church.

Cat phone 643

This was Carter’s first time back to church since his hip surgery. It was exhausting. He is so tiring at church, especially since Laun wasn’t there to help. I admire all single parents, they are hero’s!

Carter gets put in bed pretty much the moment we walk in the door from church.

We picked up Laun from the airport tonight and we were so happy to bring him home. He brought us all Oklahoma shirts and Carter tried putting his on with no success.

spring baby

Laun and Janae flew into Oklahoma last night and this morning they surprised their brother Jonathan, by walking into the hospital to see their newest nephew. The Hall’s love babies and babies love them!

Laun phone 688

Graham- I can’t wait to meet him in person.

We stayed busy while Laun was away.

Last night Marlee slept over at Andi’s house, Andrea Johnson’s daughter, so today I took all the boys to the store Scheels. I’ve been wanting to take them there for awhile because I knew they’d love it and they did.

Carter loved the fish tank.

Cat phone 559

I loved watching him point at the fishes.

There’s a ferris wheel inside the store.

Clayton and Porter took a ride.

The boys loved the soccer section and Carter was pretty sure he should take home some soccer balls.

Then we headed to Aunt Julies for some Easter fun.

All the kids did an Easter egg hunt:

The kids all got 1 large golden egg that they gave to Uncle Brett, who gave them money! Each egg was numbered and was worth a certain amount.

Cat phone 618

I love this crew.

Cat phone 624

They got the hook up.

Cat phone 629

Carter got a book and he loved it.

Cat phone 612

When we got home tonight I realized that Carter had an awful rash. We took him off the cephalexin antibiotic now that we know he’s allergic to it, poor baby!

peace

Laun getting in some snuggles with Carter before he leaves. He’s going out to Oklahoma to see his new nephew, just born today!

I dropped Laun off at the airport and then I had a sitter come over, so I could go to the temple with some members of our ward to do sealing's.  I think this is my first time to go to the Provo Temple.

Afterwards we went out to Village Inn for a very late dinner and since Laun wasn’t there someone paid for my meal, so kind.  I’m clear in the back to the right. The couple in the very front are the Hakes, he’s our Bishop. We have a great ward.

Shriners- cast change

Carter loves the fishes at Shriners.

Cat phone 489

He had a fever this morning, but we went on with the cast change under anesthesia anyways, in case his fever is from an infection. We are hoping there is no infection, otherwise he will have to be cut open again, to get cleaned out. I don’t think I’ve ever wished so hard for a kid to just be sick and not infected.

Poor baby- his eyes were all read, his fever was so high (103) and he couldn’t even stay awake.

Cat phone 496Cat phone 497

We are hoping to bring his fever down with some meds, his shirt off and a cold cloth on his head.

Cat phone 502Cat phone 504

I was trying to stay hopeful when he went back into the OR, but it can be hard. I went on a walk around the beautiful Shriner’s Hospital.

Cat phone 506Cat phone 509

In the hospital they have a huge movie selection, who knows, maybe I’ll get through all of them with all the time we spend here;) I try to walk, do physical therapy and watch a movie to distract myself while Carter is in the OR.

Cat phone 510

The doctor gave me the best news. Carter is just sick, no infection! The pin looked good and hadn’t moved, but it’s been in for a month, so she took it out. He’s out of the green cast and into a black one (the color Laun and the boys wanted) for 3 weeks and then he will get another cast change. This cast is a little different than the green one because it doesn’t go so far up his torso and it’s looser, which I’m so happy about.

Cat phone 513

Heading home- I’m loving the new cast, now if he can just get to feeling better.

Cat phone 517

King Carter

Cat phone 519

We are so happy to be home, especially since we’d have to be in the hospital for awhile if he had an infection, feeling blessed.

Marlee is going to be a great mom. She’s so helpful with Carter. He’s happy to be home with sis who is feeding him.
