raccoon= wild animal, not pet

Laun brought something home…I love that he’s driving around with a raccoon.

I told him we can’t have pets at our rental & he informed me that it’s not a pet, it’s a wild animal. Laun is hilarious & handsome.

I love this picture…Laun often puts a finger down & tells the kids that, “last time I did (such and such) I lost a finger.” I’m sure he’s telling Carter that the raccoon took his finger.

summer in UTAH= heaven

I grew up In Phoenix, where the worst season of the year was summer. So to me, summers in Utah are absolute heaven!

Today I did some reading for book club, outside, in a hammock. This is a good book so far, about a grumpy & lonely man, who lost his wife & wants to take his own life, but finds meaning in helping others.

These two love being outdoors.

I’m so excited!

Clayton is sanding my rocking chair from Grandpa Mecham, which he gave me when Clayton & Porter were so young. The stain has been wearing off & part of the arms were falling off, so I am excited for Laun to fix it & Clayton to sand it & then the re-staining can began! And I’m pretty impressed with Clayton’s sanding skills! Having him around home more with the summer will help things get done (as long as we find things for him to do).

Syd is probably my busiest kid, she is always on the go. She hit her head so hard tonight on the shelf in the living room, that it left a line across the back of her head. I had a doctor in the ward look at & she’ll be ok. Stuff like this seems to happen when Laun is gone.

We went to the Trek fireside tonight, we got to watch a video & see our cute boy Clayton trekin’ it. I’m so thankful that he had the opportunity to go. And Carter was officially worn out & fell asleep during it, even as chairs were being put away & dessert eaten.

I’m not sure what it is, but Carter has melted my heart since the day he was born, I just love & adore him. I’ve always felt so loved by him, too.

I pretty much ate my way through my 35th birthday- breakfast at IHOP & Tucano’s for dinner (I always get a free birthday meal there).
