soccer & ER

Porter’s last day of the soccer season is tomorrow. He played like a champ as usual. Scoopie, the Culver’s ice cream dude made an appearance.

I was glad that I was up to going to his game, but too bad that as the game was ending I started getting really bad pains in my stomach. Later that night I started struggling to breath, so Laun took me to the ER. I didn’t get pain relief until they stuck an IV in me & gave me some strong stuff. It turns out that I was having a bad reaction to the medicine I was taking. Ironically, I decided it would be best to take ibuprofen instead of the narcotic prescribed for my wisdom teeth removal. I guess ibuprofen is similar to naproxen (the drug I used to take for arthritis that also sent me to the ER with ulcer problems years ago), so I need to be careful with it. I got some medicine to treat my stomach & went home. Thankfully, Lucy was here already to help. This issue was way worse than getting my wisdom teeth out!

I got my top wisdom teeth taken out on November 27th (the bottom ones were taken out when I was younger). They were barely poking through the skin, but have been causing problems & pain with my other teeth & my ears. I was glad to see them go. I was even happier that the oral surgeon allowed me to stay awake for it, it saved me almost $400 dollars since I didn’t get anesthesia! Plus, it only took him 15 minutes from start to finish to get the two teeth out & stitch me up.

As you can see, they were coming in at an angle, so that explains all the pressure & pain.

I asked to take my teeth home, I knew my kids would love to see them.

Clayton had 2 silver teeth & I was so glad to see the last one fall out today. Clayton was sad to loose his bling, but I was so happy. He lost one tooth today & I lost my two upper wisdom teeth today. The tooth fairy should be visiting our house tonight.

Thanksgiving weekend

Wednesday the 21st

We are spending the weekend in Phoenix & we brought Fernando along for Thanksgiving. First off we headed to downtown Phoenix to help Ryan load some stuff he bought for his office. While the boys were busy at work I took the kiddos to walk around & get some hot cocoa.

The kids haven’t been to this area before, so it was fun for them to look around.

Then we meet back up with the guys (Laun, Julio, Fernando, Tyler & Ryan) and headed to Macayo’s for dinner.

At one point Ryan & Kami’s baby Raegan picked up this salsa bowl & just started drinking it. The girl likes her salsa.

Then we went & did some dancing & karaoke.

This is one of the few times I have ever seen Ryan nervous, but that is what I love about Ryan, he will pretty much do anything.

I told Clayton & Porter that I would give them each 5 bucks if they would sing some karaoke. They took me up on that offer & sang one of Clayton’s favorite songs: A Boy Named Sue by Johnny Cash. Laun helped them out, too & Marlee sure wanted to.

 

Thursday the 22nd

Laun headed to the ranch market this morning & got some sugar cane & flan.

Then we walked across the freeway bridge to a park with Fernando & my parents.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at my Turley Grandparent’s home.

The dinner was great & we got to see lots of family. Buffy & Becky were even in town

Marlee was excited to meet Buffy’s oldest daughter Rachel…she hardly let poor Rachel out of her sight.

Then we stopped by the Tippet’s home. Marlee was in Barbie heaven & Anna Mae even let her take a Barbie home.

The boys had fun playing games & football with Matt & Tawny’s kids.

 

Friday the 23rd

Laun took the boys dove hunting with Fernando & Ryan. Luckily Fernando was there & took some pictures.

Laun got everyone doughnuts for breakfast from Bosa bakery & a special pink frosted one for his little girl.

 

We went to see the Phoenix temple being built & hiking with my parents & Ted’s family.

Saturday the 24th

Laun went out hunting again, but Porter wasn’t feeling well so he stayed with me. Porter did some sewing with my mom today. He made some bean bags & grandma made him a pillow.

Tonight we went to the Bob & Zelda Turley reunion. Clayton was excited to hang out with boy cousins & drink Turley root beer.
