Going to Shriners usually means an early morning. It’s not even 6 o’clock yet, but this boy is happy and ready to go.
It’s not good being blue, it’s time for a change.
Trying to distract Carter from his hunger with a movie, it didn’t last too long.
He was pretty happy with this toy set though and they gave him a backpack of toys.
When the drugs start kicking in, he gets a little loopy. He played peak a boo and gave me lots of kisses, my favorite.
Doctor’s always initial the body part that they will be working on in surgery. Carter’s left foot has a purple W on it, since she can’t mark his covered up hip.
Being carried back for surgery. The hope is that when she takes off his body cast she finds that his hip is still in the correct position, the pin looks good and possibly stays in or comes out and that she can just re-cast him.
All those hopes came true today! Carter’s hip was in the correct spot still, the pin looked good, so she left it in and she re-casted him. He got green this time, just in time for St. Patrick's Day!
This cast is similar to the last one, except it goes up way higher on the torso, close to the armpits! She is afraid of him rotating his torso too much with the pin in his hip.
That is a huge stack of mole skin and the crazy thing is that he will probably go through all of it.
He wakes up from anesthesia ready to eat.
Goodbye Shriners, until next time. Prayers were answered today.
