We have been to Salt Lake a lot lately.
This morning we went to Shriners. He had an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon and a neurologist (for his abnormal muscle biopsy).
I love how this kid doesn’t let anything stop him. He gets around pretty good in his brace.
He still hates x-rays (I like them better than cat scans since they don’t cost over $500).
All my big kids had hip x-rays today, because the orthopedic doctor wants to make sure their hips all look good and they do!
We ate lunch in the cafeteria and Carter was pretty happy with the free cookies they gave out.
The boys playing basketball and Marlee riding a bike in the huge playroom at Shriners, while Carter and I went to another appointment.
One of the sweet parts about Shriners is they have toys everywhere.
He still isn’t a fan of Dr. Woiczik, his orthopedic surgeon. When she enters a room he cries, which is sad because she should be one of his favorite people. She’s done so much for him, yet he probably just associates her with body casts and pain. She said his x-ray looks good, but that she wants him to stay in his brace still, but only at night time! She also wants him to have some brace for his feet to help him be more stable and to stand and walk more.
Waiting to get fitted for braces…
He wasn’t a fan of getting fitted for braces. They’ll send away to have the feet braces made.
We were in Salt Lake all morning and then drove home and then tonight we had to drive all the way back to Salt Lake to pick up Laun from the airport. We’ve done a lot of driving today.
So happy to have Laun home and he brought a treat as usual.
