Christmas

Traditions:

the line up

On Christmas morning we have the kids line up from youngest to oldest in the hallway before they can come out & see their stockings & presents.

stockings & presents

Santa brought each of the kids snow boards & filled their stockings. And yes, Marlee is still yawning.

520

Laun made this awesome stocking holder & I love it so much that I have been trying to find a place for it in the house all year long, instead of just for the holiday season.

521

Marlee was happy to get princess makeup & Prince Charming.

526529

Some of their stocking stuffers: toothbrush & toothpaste, bath fizz, candy, mangos, chap stick, pez, etc. One of my favorite stocking stuffers were these cute animal chopsticks.

531

The snake snap bracelets were a big hit. The boys also liked their new ear plugs & fire starters.

530

The kids all get presents for each other.

Clayton got Porter an airsoft gun & Marlee a Ken doll (the Barbie's finally got some men folk).

 535540

Porter got Clayton a dart board & Marlee a car for her Barbie's.

533537

Marlee got the boys nerf guns.

538

Grandma Lucy made the kids pillows. Marlee’s is pink with flowers & the boys got UofA with colors of red & blue.

542

She also got the boys a puzzle with all the United States Presidents & made Marlee a scarf. I also got a scarf & Laun got a cool belt buckle (a family heirloom).

543544

The Turley Grandparents got the boys sport balls & a pump.

547

Grandma Turley made Marlee a pink & white (reversible) cape with a matching purse. She also got some books.

545546

My parents got Laun a dutch oven & a church shirt. They gave us kitchen knives & mixing bowls.

548549

We got the boys what they were wanting…

562

A remote control helicopter & car.

567568

We got Marlee Plush Dolls: Sleeping Beauty & her Prince.

566

Clayton was so excited to get Laun these hot shots.

571

I love Christmas Day because the kids stay busy with all their new gifts.

569

breakfast- Sour Cream Coffee Cake

This tradition of having coffee cake for breakfast is from my mom & she got it from Grandma Turley. I made three of them & delivered some to the neighbors.

576577

Our neighbors the Petersons bring us these yummy molasses cookies each Christmas.

570

Marlee was excited to watch her princess set of a crown, castle & frog grow in water.

575

She got right to painting her nails with her new “makeup”.

578

The boys tried out their chopstick skills.

573

smoked turkey for lunch

Dr. Collier gets Laun a smoked turkey every year, it was tasty.

582

The rest of the day was spent snacking, watching movies and putting together this puzzle that Lucy got for the boys.

585

I am so thankful for this holiday season to spend time with family & reflect on Christ’s birth.
