The traditions:
ornaments
Marlee got a giraffe since we went to the zoo for preschool this year.
All the kids got birds made from gourds, Marlee’s was a hummingbird & the boys got owls. They were from the Sonoran Desert Museum, a place we went to a lot this year.
All the kids got a bat, Marlee’s was out of fabric & the boys got metal bats. They were from Kartchner Caverns, where I took the kids there this year.
All the kids got acorns to remind them of squirrel hunting in Show Low, they each shot their first squirrel on that trip.
The boys got a soccer ball, they played for AYSO the past 2 years.
The boys got a rabbit, they both shot their first rabbit this year.
And I finally got Clayton a deer ornament since he got his first deer when he was 7 years old.
new pajamas
On Christmas Eve night they get to open up a pair of new pajamas & put them on, so they are wearing them for Christmas morning.
steak for dinner
We had steak, mashed potatoes, asparagus, bread & some Martinelli’s to drink.
Dinner was followed with some hot cocoa toasting.
piñata
Each kid had a turn while blindfolded to whack the piñata.
Then the rope snapped, so Laun found a thicker rope & held it from the tree.
Then we take the empty piñata & burn it- clean up & toasty fire all in one.
The kids like checking out their goods- chocolates, pop rocks, glow sticks, matchbox cars and balloons.
Spiritual Christmas message- the true meaning of Christmas
This year we watched part of the Christmas devotional by the church, since we didn’t see it yet.
Christmas tree & treats for Santa
Hopefully Santa likes chocolate!
