Friday
We started the weekend off great with popeye pancakes.
Mom and Carter selfies
Laun went to the Vernal Temple.
Then we drove to Logan, Utah to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary!
We stopped by a fun donut place.
The kids always love swimming at a hotel, especially since it is snowing all around! Thank goodness for indoor-heated pools.
It was crazy looking in there with the windows all foggy and cold air coming in when the door opened.
I’m so glad Carter was out of his cast, so he could get in the pool.
Marlee in a swimsuit-towel cover and snow boots! Never thought she’d need to wear this combo.
cute pile of kids
Saturday
Clayton and I got up extra early, so we could be to the Logan, Utah temple by 5:45am for baptisms.
I’m so proud of this boy, he has a goal to do baptisms for the dead every month. He also want’s to go to different temples, since we are in Utah and there are so many!
Now that Carter’s not in a cast he can sit in a shopping cart!
flavored milks
We let the kids pick out flavored milks and got a whole case. We also got lunch meats, cheese, egg nog, milk and heavy cream.
Then we stopped by Caspers for ice cream.
Laun got some bread from Kneaders to go with our meat and cheese.
We also drove by the homes we used to live in.
This is Ezra Taft Benson’s home in Whitney, Idaho that we lived in back in 2008.
Then after we lived in the Idaho home, we moved into our good friends, the Westover’s home in Utah for a semester. A lot of great things happened for us while we lived here…Marlee was born, our boys joined their first soccer teams and Laun graduated with his Bachelors degree!
Then we drove to Hardware Ranch to see the elk.
The drive was beautiful and we got out for a bit to see the icy, rushing water.
It was pretty cold out and you had to wait in a long line to get on the ride to see the elk, so we bundled up. I was bummed that they haven’t started the sleigh rides yet, that sounds way better than our ride.
Luckily, Carter fell asleep in my arms while we were waiting, because it took awhile!
Finally, our turn!
We had a great weekend celebrating 14 years of marriage and going to some places that our dear to our hearts. I’m thankful everyday for Laun.
