1st soccer games of the season!

After our boys having a year off of soccer, I am more than pumped to see them play again. Laun and I love watching our boys play soccer. They had their first games of their club soccer season. Unfortunately, their games were at the same time, at different parks. Laun took {Porter to his game and I took Clayton to his.

They both did awesome.

I told the boys I’d take them to get Rita’s custard and ice if they scored a goal in their first game. Clayton was so close to scoring and Porter did score 1 goal. Porter was nice and shared.

old friends

Today I met up with my good friend from high school, Bekah! I think the last time we saw each other was possibly at our 10 year reunion 5 years ago? She’s one of those awesome people that I can go years without seeing and it’s as if time never passed. Thanks to social media, I found out she was in Provo and so I picked her up for lunch. The funny thing is that in high school she wasn’t a member of the church, but has since then joined. She’s such a great example to me and a good friend. It’s too bad we don’t live close to each other.

Laun took Sunthorn and his friends fishing today at Scofield Lake, so the kids and I joined them.

Clayton caught this fish with his hands.

Sunthorn and Laun- fishing like the old times

They went to school at UofA together as students. Sunthorn lives in Thailand and he and two of his co-workers are here on business. It’s kind of cool that both Sunthorn and Laun work with cows and that their careers could cross paths.

handsome boys

Laun put up the hammock at our camp site, it’s pretty sweet. I think Carter’s still confused about it.

Porter had homework to do on a computer and ours is in storage, so we went to the library. Carter’s love for books makes me so happy. All my kids have loved books.

Porter had soccer practice at the park, so we had plenty of time on the playground.

I’m so glad Porter and Clayton have each other. They practice soccer together, catch snakes, hike, stay up talking at nights, fight…

Laun was getting back really late from work tonight, so I went to the camper, with just the kids. It was very dark when we arrived and our dog Raggles looked like she had been cut off her rope and was running around scared. For some reason it spooked me, but it really freaked out the kids. They asked me to leave, but first I had to grab Raggles. I went back into town and waited for Laun who was still driving back from work. He met me sometime around 11 or midnight at a Walmart parking lot. We were tired and were trying to decide if we should just stay in a hotel instead. I went into a hotel and no one was at the desk and they wouldn’t answer, so we finally just went back to the camper. Poor Porter was so tired that he fell asleep in a ball in the backseat. It’s amazing how much safer we feel with Laun around. The poor kids have school tomorrow and we are all beyond exhausted. II ‘m struggling being patient with this house thing. I just want to go to a home so badly, not a camper. I should remember to be more grateful for what I have and to have joy in the journey.

first day

It’s the first day of school for the 2015-2016 school year.

We spent the night at Lindsie’s last night, so all these pictures are in front of her house (we are still in the camper).

I’m excited that Clayton and Porter are back in Junior High together like they were in Tucson. Tucson’s school went from 6th-8th grade and this school is 7th-9th grade.

Marlee is sad that Porter isn’t at school with her this year, last year he was with her for a little over half the school year.

Marlee’s 1st grade teacher is Mrs. Swenson.

Carter and I are overjoyed for one on one time.

Today Laun is with Sunthorn (they were doctorate students together at UofA) and two of his co-workers. They came clear from Thailand! They went to the Bateman’s dairy.

I surprised the kids when I picked them up and took them to the Bean Museum. It’s on BYU campus, it’s updated, it’s awesome and it’s free!

Carter kept pointing at all the birds and saying “geegle geegle” which is what he calls any type of bird.

I’m pretty sure this is the biggest elevator I’ve ever been in. Porter likes to jump as it goes down.

cat phone 415cat phone 417

I let all the kids get something from the gift shop. Carter loved this bouncy ball with fishes inside, so I grabbed it and all the other kids happen to pick suckers. Clayton and Porter got ones with a scorpion inside and Marlee got a BYU one. I made a big mistake…every kid got a sucker except for Carter and he let us know how unhappy he was. The kids took turns sharing their suckers with him.

Then we met up with Laun, Sunthorn and his co-workers at BYU creamery.

Sunthorn’s wife got our whole family matching shirts. She looked at our facebook pictures to guess our sizes, since we’ve never met her. It was so sweet of her and one day we all want to wear them and send her a picture.

Then we had to drive clear back to the camper, I’m getting tired.

jumbled

Carter’s book perfectly explains are lives right now. I feel like our stuffs everywhere…in the vehicles, in the camper, in the storage unit and at other people’s houses. I’m trying to be patient and grateful, but I’m struggling. Now that school is about to start and summers over, this whole living situation seems less like a vacation and more stressful. I just need to hang in there, we have less than two weeks till we move into our rental home.

cat phone 378

The kids and I are going to spend the next two nights at Trent and Lindsie’s home, since Laun will be gone over night for work. Trent’s family has helped us so much, with letting us stay here, do laundry, shower and keep our truck here! We owe them forever! I feel like we owe so many people for all the help we’ve gotten over the last year!

Anyways, the kids are excited for a sleepover with cousins and a real shower. This is how I found the kids this morning, a pile of kids.

cat phone 375

Porter had 7th grade orientation and Marlee had kindergarten open house today, I can’t believe school starts tomorrow!

cat phone 376cat phone 380

We went back to get our stuff to spend the night at Trent’s house again and when we arrived at the camper I realized I didn’t have the key. I about had a nervous breakdown or panic attack, but Clayton saved me from going even farther on the crazy train, by breaking in. I needed stuff in there for school tomorrow! Thank you Clayton!

cat phone 382

Clayton and I had to pull a late night. We ran to Walmart for school supplies, lunch stuff and some clothes. I’m so thankful for his help, especially with Laun out of town.
