Roosevelt Lake- day 1

Ryan invited us to join his family at Roosevelt Lake and we gladly accepted. Laun had to work today, so we got to the lake a little late. At least we got a little tube time in.

Marlee loved the tube ride. She had a constant smile on her face. I love how she is such a dare devil.

I love the happiness on Porter and Clayton’s face.

Porter practically got bounced into the standing position, but he held on.

Marlee loves to be by Alissa’s side whenever she can.

I thought for sure that Clayton was going to get bounced off…

but he managed to stay on.

This girl is cute.

The kids got plenty wet, luckily the water felt amazing.

I love this picture of Laun.

Thumbs up means go faster and thumbs down means slow down. I never saw Marlee put her thumbs down, only up:)

Heading off the lake. I can’t wait to go back tomorrow.

The boys found a coach whip snake and went after it. As Laun is helping them catch it he asks them if they are sure it isn’t a poisonous snake (because he didn’t see what kind it was) and they assured him it wasn’t. These boys know a little too much about snakes. They were ecstatic to catch it, normally they are so fast that they haven’t been able to catch one before. Porter picked him up and it bit him twice! So Laun took it from Porter to rescue the poor kid.

Rosevelt lake and my b-day 157

They had to grab its head so that they could hold the snake without being bitten (again).

Rosevelt lake and my b-day 160Rosevelt lake and my b-day 163

I think it is a cool looking snake.

Rosevelt lake and my b-day 167Rosevelt lake and my b-day 170Rosevelt lake and my b-day 171Rosevelt lake and my b-day 173

Everyone had to check out the snake before they let it go. Ryan and Kami only have daughters, so this whole snake catching thing doesn’t normally happen in their family.

The red mark on Porter’s hand is where the snake bit him (one of the times), but the crazy kid was determined to catch that snake.

Then we went out to eat. The fish and hamburgers were good.

Rosevelt lake and my b-day 183

This hamburger was a one pounder, the picture doesn’t do justice with how huge it was.

to the best dad I know

I get emotional when I think of Laun. Not only is he an amazing husband, he is the best dad to our kids.

I’m positive he loves his kids more than life. He would do anything for his children. He is their protector, their provider, their example, their biggest fan, and their rock.

Laun’s dad died when Laun was only 7 months old. Thank goodness Grandpa Hall (Mike’s father) was there to teach Laun how to be a father.

Dear Laun,

Thank you for being a great husband.

Thank you for being an awesome dad.

Thank you for being unselfish with your time.

Thank you for choosing family first.

Thank you for being the funnest person I know.

Thank you for loving me and showing our kids what a great marriage is and should be.

Thank you for your sense of humor.

Thank you for being a tease.

Thank you for teaching our kids.

Thank you for holding the priesthood.

Thank you for being so damn good looking (that’s right Laun…I swore).

Thank you for having sweet dance moves.

Thank you for being you.

Thank you for making our life good.

We love you Laun Hall

Happy Father’s Day

Today we were traveling home from the Turley Reunion, so I didn’t make Laun breakfast in bed.

I was home in time to make him cordon bleu for dinner though.

to our dads

Mike Hall

Laun’s dad died when Laun was only 7 months old. Even though Laun can’t remember him, I’m sure Mike will seem familiar to Laun when they meet again.

Mike was wonderful to his kids and he certainly passed that on to all of his children. All the Hall children are fabulous with kids.

I’ve been told what a tease Mike was and the same can be said of Laun.

One of Mike’s last moments of life was showing Laun a bunny, less than 15 minutes before Mike died. Laun is the last child Mike held in his arms. Laun kept grabbing Mike’s face like he was trying to tell him something.

Laun has a love for babies and animals to this day, just like his father.

Mike would often sneak Laun out of his bed at night to spend more time with his baby. Laun gets Marlee out of bed almost every morning before she wakes, it reminds me of his father. I look forward to the day when I can tell Mike thanks for hanging in there to have his last child. I need my Laun.

Grandpa Hall

I’ve never met Grandpa Hall, but I’ve sure heard about him. He passed away when Laun was a boy. He had a great impact on Laun. When Laun and Jared were young (4 and 5 I believe) they lived with Grandpa and Grandma Hall for a year while Lucy finished her degree. What a blessing this time was for Laun. During this time Laun grew a love for the outdoors, fire, homemade bread with mayo, “a coke and a cake” (he used to let the boys pick out a pop and a treat), and old country music. He taught Laun how to treat women, how to find his way in the wilderness, and a little about driving. I am thankful for him giving Laun one of the best gifts of all, time.

Utah trip- part7

I am so glad we got a group picture before the reunion ended. Laura positioned everyone and got her camera set up on the tripod, and then Matt (Brandon’s brother) snapped some pictures.

It was a great reunion and we are so thankful for Dad and Mom and all the planning, time and money that they put into this trip.

On our way home we stopped by Lee’s Ferry and played in the water. Even though it is hot outside the water was freezing still.

We braved the cold water and jumped in.

Clayton took a lot more coaxing to finally get in.

I think it’s funny that we are both wearing University shirts from schools that Laun has graduated from. Although, I think we are way bigger Utah State fans. Go Aggies!

Turley reunion 623

The boys tried to fit in as much as they could before we headed home:

some fishing

and lizard catching (Porter gets pretty intense about lizard catching)

Turley reunion 630

No wonder Laun’s the kids favorite…here he is helping Porter catch a lizard.
