Carter was all about his Easter basket. He was happy to find lots of goodies in each egg…cheerios, goldfish and candy.

We were so glad to have Ryan and his girls here, they had to head home after dinner.

I’m so thankful for Easter and this time that we remember all that Christ has done for us. It was also General Conference, I missed a lot, so I am grateful I can go back and listen to each talk online.

cousins

Ryan and his girls came in town and we are so excited!

Clayton and Alissa are such good buds, which is funny because they didn’t get along too great when they were little. They went bike riding.

Then we headed to the mountains to do some shooting.

While the guys were setting up the pigeon shooter, the girls had a photo shoot.

I braided Alissa and Kallie’s hair today. I love how different their hair color is.

track and date night

It is so fun having a kid old enough to run in track. This is Clayton’s first track meet and I can’t wait to see him run. The junior high schools in Utah are 7-9th grade, so even though he’s only in 7th grade he will be competing against 7-9th graders.

The start of the mile run-he was so nervous. He’s so tall and those red shoes help me spot him.

Just think, yesterday there was snow on the ground and today it’s only on the mountain tops, it looks like Spring again.

Tonight I was kind of down. Being a mom is the best job ever, but it is so hard. I’m not as good at it as I thought I’d be, but I just need to do my best and know God will make up the rest. Laun took me out on a date which is just what I needed. We tried out Zupas Café. Then we came home to our kids watching movies. I love that Porter and Marlee are jammed in one chair.

winter is white & elephants are gray

This morning was snowy!? What…I thought it was Spring!

This morning we went to Marlee’s kinder program. They sang a bunch of songs about animals and they all dressed up. Marlee was an elephant.

My favorite part was when they turned off the lights and wore their masks that glowed in the dark.

Marlee did her part well. She is great on stage- loud singing, great expressions, etc.

egg drop and teeth

The kindergarteners had an egg drop today. An egg drop is where the kids make some type of egg holder to protect it from being broken and then an adult drops them from a roof and they see what eggs don’t crack.

I’m lucky enough to have a Porter in the house who loves creating stuff and helped Marlee with this project. I didn’t do a thing.

He helped her make a parachute type contraption and the egg stayed solid on their trial run, so good luck to Marlee!

The egg ended up cracking on the drop today, but it was fun for Marlee and interesting to see what things worked well.
