rescheduled

We got to Shriners bright and early for Carter’s surgery. Last night was awful. We had told Carter he was having surgery and going to be in another body cast and I think it gave him PTSD. He was up most the night.

Caroline, the Child Life Specialist (like Laura Gaynard was for me) came and brought Carter some toys, he especially loved the superhero cars.

The anesthesiologist listened to him and went over his recent health with us and he thinks we should prolong surgery for at least 3 weeks. I was bummed since both our mothers have already purchased tickets and were lined up to help, but obviously, doing what’s best for Carter is most important.

We went down to the cafeteria for breakfast and I came to terms with the news. Then we had Sydney’s ultra sound. Her hips are looking good, but she still has to wear the brace 24 hours a day for 2 weeks and then onto 18 hours a day for awhile. I love how she looks at her daddy. This was Laun’s first time at one of her ultrasounds.

Well, we came home today and Carter didn’t have surgery, so I guess we just get to enjoy time with my mom!

Daddy loves his girl.

Beautiful night for a walk. Carter barely sat in the stroller, he loved getting out and running around. My mom came in town for Carter’s surgery tomorrow, although, I’m  afraid they might have to reschedule, since he hasn’t been feeling well lately. He got what Porter had…chills, fever, pukes and cough.

This girl is a beauty and I don’t know how her and Laun have bare legs and sandals, it’s getting cold, although it’s warmer for November.

Veterans Day

Clayton dressed up for school in honor of Veteran’s Day.

Porter stayed home sick, so Carter had plenty of hang out time, which he loves. He also got some snuggles with dad. I love our little cuddle bug.

daddy's boy

Lately Carter has been saying,”I think I’m a Daddy's boy” and then waits for me to react and says, “I’m a mammas boy.” He goes back and forth and loves to tease us, but Laun usually wins.

You can often find Carter in Laun’s office. He’s gotta do what dads doing.

doctor visits

I rarely take the boys to school. They walk since we live so close, so it was fun to see them head into school today.

Rose had her 4 month appointment today. The doctor wants me to track her eating, since she hasn’t gained weight lately. He’s guessing that she’s such a happy baby and she doesn’t fuss very long when she’s hungry, so she isn’t nursing enough. She should nurse 7 times a day and he’s guessing she’s only nursing 5-6 times daily. He says this is common with very happy babies, so we hope tracking how much she nurses a day works.

Then we went to the hospital for Laun to get a scope done. He’s had extremely bad acid reflux and lots of pain. They found out that he has a hiatal hernia and an ulcer. They need him to take medicine for a month and then come back for another scope. We are sure cramming everything medical in, since we’ve reached our out of pocket for the year.

We made pumpkin muffins and pumpkin soup, so yummy and the garden pumpkins are all gone.

Carter seems to like sour cream by the spoonful or finger dip.

4 months

I’m loving these monthly pictures with Sydney and her lamb.

She’s still wearing the Pavlik harness & handles it pretty well. She only weighs 11.2 pounds and she was 11 pounds last month, so I’m a little worried. I find it strange that she hasn’t really gained weight since shes been in the harness or maybe she’s not eating as often as she should. We will see what her doctor says. She is pure joy and we sure love our happy girl!
