Clayton’s soccer tournament weekend

Clayton had one game Friday night and two games on Saturday. It was a cold game on Friday. The past two soccer weekends have been cold.

Clayton played great. He usually plays defense and sometimes midfield.

This picture’s blurry, but this is Clayton running through the cheer tunnel. All the parents make a tunnel after each game for the team to run through.

Thankfully, Saturday was warmer weather.

This had been a great season for Clayton, the best so far. He had a great coach and a great team. He made some crazy goals this season. One goal from almost half field! He played great defense and became a more aggressive player. Way to go Clayton!

special shopping today

Marlee’s my little shopping buddy. We went to the mall today to get some Christmas gifts.

She thought the dog manikin at Old Navy was so cool that she requested a picture:) 

Then I took her to see Santa. Santa was about to go feed his reindeer, so they weren't’ letting anyone else get in line. I let them know that we had to leave the mall soon to pick up the boys from school and I’d really appreciate it if they’d let Marlee in.  My mom magic worked and she got to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what she wants for Christmas. I just snapped some pictures of her with my phone. I love these precious pictures.

Marlee was so excited to see Santa. She asked him for a bike…I better get on that:)

This Christmas is going to be so fun. Marlee is definitely feeling the Christmas magic.

Then we ate lunch at the mall and headed out to get the boys.

Marlee’s preschool had their little Christmas program today. Here she is walking to the chapel.

I can’t wait to see her sing.

They sang so many cute Christmas songs. The best part about Marlee attending a church preschool is that they actually talk about the real meaning of Christmas…Christ. They sang and some acted out the nativity. I love attending my kids events.

Laun was bummed to miss it, but he had a meeting with his committee. Lucky for him I recorded a lot of it. Afterwards there was cake and punch.

Clayton’s first band concert

Clayton is in 6th grade this year at the middle school. For an elective he took band for the first time. He picked the french horn because it’s suppose to be one of the hardest instruments to play, I guess he likes a challenge. He did great in his first band concert.

The band members all had to wear black pants. Clayton didn’t have any black pants so I bought him some today. The only problem was that they didn’t have size 16, so I had to go with size 18. I know they are a little baggy and long, but still, I can’t believe my 11 year old can get away with wearing a size 18!

I love his little smile.

He really liked participating in the concert and was happy that my brother Andy’s family came to watch him.

I’m so proud of this kid. Afterwards we went to Sprouts and Clayton picked out gelato to celebrate.

Porter’s soccer tournament weekend

Tournament weekend means one game on Friday night and two games on Saturday. The Friday night game was so cold.

Porter did great and had some sweet goals. What I love most about watching Porter play soccer is that he gives it his all. The kid just goes and goes.

Laun’s elk

Laun isn’t too happy with the size of the elk, but I think it’s sweet. He wanted a bigger one to mount, but I think just the antlers will look cool.

thumb sucker

Here’s Marlee sitting by the portable heater (the same one Clayton stood on and slipped…which resulted in a ton of stitches on his leg) sucking her thumb and touching her belly button. This girl is almost 5 and she still sucks her thumb! I’m going to start a new rule-if she sucks her thumb then she can’t use the iPad that day (and the girl loves the iPad). Hopefully it works!

Marlee taquito

The end of soccer season gets a little chilly for us wimpy people who live in the desert. Marlee got so cold at the soccer game that she had to be bundled up like a taquito.

I always love to see what Marlee makes in preschool. I thought her little baby Jesus in a Manger was so sweet.

Happy Hanukkah!

Our neighbors had the kids over to celebrate the last night of Hanukkah with them. The kids loved playing the dradle game and came home with quite the loot! They got cookies, candy and Martinelli’s.
