a visit to Pima

We went to the Smart’s house on Saturday & Sunday. We’ve done a lot of driving this weekend; the kids & I were in Phoenix from Thursday to Saturday morning & then we drove home to Tucson & then to Pima all in the same day. I left Phoenix earlier than I expected, the boys were moody, fighting, not listening, etc. Friday night & Saturday morning kind of reminded me of the book: Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. I was so done dealing with the misbehaving boys by myself & was so happy to see Laun again. Maybe the boys were going through Laun withdrawals, too. Who knows?! Before we headed to Pima we had lunch at our favorite Sushi place in Tucson: Sushi Ten with Ryan. The Sushi was so good & my mood instantly got better.

In Pima the guys transported Ryan’s cows to Ryan & Brady’s ranch, while the kids & I kicked it with the Smarts.

The boys had fun practicing their pogo skills all weekend.

Marlee was very happy to have Misty paint her nails.

Misty painted my nails, too. I think I need to visit her more often…I am loving my pedicure & manicure:)

I feel bad that Laun & the kids hard work went down the drain. I guess it’s better to smile than cry. I think we’ll need to have a garden in the front yard from here out.

I was just glad that I made it to Phoenix in time to see Nathan while he was still in the hospital.

The next day we took Rachel lunch from Japan Express- the best place to get teriyaki chicken from, ever! My kids were excited to see their new cousin.

My kids are baby hungry.

Tonight the kids were watching Biggest Loser with me & I came in to the living room to find Marlee getting carried by Porter, while she’s yelling,”I’m Jillian…get to work. Last chance workout!!!” Marlee might be a good replacement when Jillian retires.

What has come over us?

We got another dog…two within less than four weeks time. The pound was running a $13 special on all dogs for the month of January.  We had gotten Raggles back on January 5th & have loved having her. We had so much luck the first tiem that we decided to go back to the pound (on the last day of January) & get another dog. This time we wanted to find a good guard dog & a friend for Raggles. We instantly fell in love with Peach, we think she is a Great Dane-Shepherd mix. She is much bigger than Raggles, but very calm & sweet. We couldn’t bring her home until yesterday, February 1st because she had to be spade first. The poor dog was pretty drugged & I had to load her in the Tahoe by myself, since Laun was holding a study session for his UofA class. Peach & Raggles seem to hit it off just fine. They are complete opposites in every way.

Peach is 5 years old & Raggles is 2, so glad to have no puppies. They are so much easier than all of our past dogs.

Marlee is so excited to have another dog to hang out with.

Everyone had been loving Peach. She is so gentle & calm.

Two Lazy

I never thought I’d be such a dog person, but these two are converting me.

Clayton’s leg has been healing so fast. He still has some dead skin, but the scabbing has left. It looks like he is going to have a candy cane shaped scar.
