all girl

Marlee loves to get into my high heels and wear them around the house. She actually walks quite well in them. She also loves to put on my flower headband. It is funny how girls just love to play dress up.

wok

Laun made stir-fry for dinner tonight, in our sweet wok that Jared gave us.
He made a chicken and veggie stir-fry, with brown rice-it was so delicious.

Prescott

We met up with Ryan and Jared's families in Prescott this last weekend. Friday night we went out for dinner and swam at the hotel. The kids were so excited to go swimming.

Marlee had fun jumping in-more like falling in. She also liked hanging out with me in the hot tub.

Three kids snuggled in a bed. Marlee didn't stay put for long.

I thought this was cool:

On Saturday the guys went to the horse auction, while the ladies shopped and grabbed lunch. Then we met up with them at the auction.

After awhile I got sick of looking at horses, especially when we weren't even buying one for us. So Kami and I decided to go back to Prescott to shop- bad idea. We got lost on the way back to the auction. Lets just say we took a scenic route. At least we had some good laughs and were not alone through the whole ordeal. Marlee was getting pretty sick of traveling, so I put some headphones on her. It made her happy, but that didn't last long.
Despite driving through random small cities and getting lost, it was still a good trip. And Ryan and Jared both left with a horse.

Show Low

Saturday:

The kids keeping themselves occupied on the drive- giving Marlee a piggy face.

There was 4-wheeling and lots of mud. I got a picture of Darleen and Jonathan but, I missed getting one of Clayton, muddy from head to toe.

Laun and Ryan spent lots of time cutting up meat to make jerky, summer sausage, and snack sticks.

Ryan and Kami's baby Raegan was blessed tonight. Then we all got to enjoy dinner and dessert at their home.

Marlee loved hanging out with her aunt Jennette.

Misty and Cat

Marlee loved that there was girl stuff everywhere- dolls, dress up, etc.

Sunday:

After church, we made adobada for lunch-thanks to Misty for that great recipe. Then we had more yummy food at the Larsen's and fhe with any Hall's still in town.

Kami and Raegan

Ryan and Laun making summer sausage and snack sticks-there was a crazy amount of meat.

Monday/MLK day:

We went out to lunch with Jennette and then to Cooper's grave today. I still can't believe that he has been gone for almost 4 years. What would life be like with him here? I am so excited to someday see him on the other side. Porter kept telling Marlee- we are going to see your big brother Cooper.

Laun enjoyed throwing snow balls at the kids.

Our kiddos

Our family

Our family foot prints- there is a space in between Porter and Marlee's prints, for our Cooper.

Marlee building a snowman (her brothers helped). Every time Marlee saw snow she would say,"snowman!"

On the way home we saw "monster mountain" -that is what Laun called it as a kid.

I think the desert is pretty, it feels like home to me.

It was great to spend time with the Hall's this weekend.

spelling bee- round two

All the kids who made it into round two of the spelling bee^

I think Porter was happy to be there:)

Porter made it with only 9 kids left, but then 3 of them got eliminated that round. I was so proud of him for making it that far, especially since he was competing against grades 1-8!

Clayton made it through all the rounds, and placed 2nd overall! Now he is the alternate for the district spelling bee. This boy is such a terrific speller. Way to go Clayton!

I was one proud momma of my boys doing so well. This was a great experience for them to be able to get up in front of a crowd and compete with other students. It also taught them that hard work pays off.

The 1st place winner was from Clayton's class. Mrs. Cohn was so happy that the two top winners were from her class. I am so impressed that these third graders beat out even the eighth graders. After school we took our boys out to celebrate. They got to pick out a treat at the 17th street market. Clayton got a huge, white chocolate candy bar and Porter got guava wafers (didn't even know that flavor existed. Great job Clayton and Porter!!!
