8 months old

I am loving these monthly bear pictures with Carter. He hardly sat still for this months and it was pretty much a wrestling match with him and his bear! Since our stuff is all in storage, I couldn’t take his pictures on my bed or green chair, I’m sure it will be that way for next months pictures, too.

I love those criss-crossed feet.

He didn’t see why he had to wear clothes for any of the pictures.

Maybe if he didn’t look at me, I would stop taking pictures, it worked.

look who’s sitting

Carter is already 8 months old and he hasn’t been sitting yet, likely because with one hip dislocated he isn’t as stable. Yesterday at his doctor appointment I talked with a physical therapist and she gave me some advice. Today Carter sat up on his own!

I love how this kiddo has a little body with short legs and short hands and arms and a big noggin…just like his brother Porter.

Raggles came to say hello and Carter still kept his balance, so proud!

Tucson

Today Carter and I left super early for Tucson. Carter had an appointment with Dr. Vincent, an orthopedic surgeon. Carter needs a hip surgery, since his left hip is still dislocated. The poor boy had a brace and a surgery already and it still didn’t work! The doctor found out that I am having a hip replacement October 27th, so he said he’ll give me 3 weeks to heal some and then it’s Carter’s turn to have surgery. This is going to be crazy! We are going to be left hip twins! My poor baby got my hip genes. After Carter’s appointment I ate lunch at my good friend Elizabeth Ashdown’s home and vented about how crazy my life is going to be for the next couple of months. And then Carter and I drove back to Show Low…it was a long day.

While I was in Tucson, Laun was in Show Low with the kids. He even took pictures of Marlee getting off the bus after her first day of school. I love that man! And sweet Alissa was holding her hand!

firsts again

Clayton had his first day of school in Show Low yesterday, but Porter and Marlee’s was today.

Porter and Clayton are at the same school again, since Show Lo , like Tucson, has junior high from grades 6-8.

And best of all, Porter, Clayton and Pearce are all in the same Math class.

Marlee is at the same elementary school as her cousin Kallie.

She is in Ms. V’s class and ironically her teacher is also from Tucson.

Marlee and Kallie are so excited to be in the same school for awhile.

My poor kids, by the time we move to Utah they will have been in 3 schools this year! At least the middle one is with cousins, so that makes all these adjustments so much easier.
