1st soccer tournament of the All Star Season
The boys both had two games today, but they were at different places and times, so I saw both of Porter’s games and just the end of Clayton’s last game, since Laun took him. The All Star season competes with club and various teams and each tournament has Saturday and Sunday games. We don’t play soccer on Sunday’s, so I talked with the boys coach's before the season started to see if they still wanted them on the teams and they did. Both boys have great coach's, so I’m excited for this season.
Porter’s team is called: Hot Boys (awful name, but whatever)
Porter’s 1st game today:
Porter with his coach Bill. This is a new coach for Porter and the coach is awesome.
Clayton keeping Marlee entertained.
Porter’s 2nd game today:
It was pretty sweet, he made a goal against a goalie who was as tall as the parents.
They have 2 uniforms. They wore purple this morning and now they are in the yellow neon, he’s #3.
That muscle man pose is Porter’s victory position. He gets pretty excited when he makes a goal.
I only caught the end of Clayton’s night game:
Rillito Rush Team
Trying to get this many boys to look at the camera is near impossible. This tournament was a little rocky for them, they are playing lots of club teams and it’s no longer the gentleness of their AYSO season. Now they know and hopefully next tournament they bring on the heat.
Clayton has the same coach as last season and he’s awesome. He and his wife co-coach.

Ft. Lowell Parade
The boys All Star season has began and it starts out with a parade. Teams come from all over Arizona and many other states- it is crazy.
Clayton’s team walked in the parade (while Porter’s team parents opted out, but Porter got to at least go to the event):
Some teams get super into it, like this one with their cool dragon.
After the parade they have competitions. Clayton was in the accuracy competition, with 3 other members of his soccer team. They have to try and kick the soccer ball through the holes. Clayton did awesome and kicked the ball right through. His group even got first place in accuracy! Way to go Clayton!!!
On the stage receiving their awards.
Poor Laun, he missed out on the festivities because he had lab work. He has spent a lot of time in this lab.
that boy
Sometimes my kids draw or write at church during sacrament meeting. I cleaned out my purse and found these jewels:
Clayton’s drawing…
Marlee’s drawing…
Porter’s math problems…
Seriously?! Porter occupies himself by coming up with math problems and solving them. I love this kid!

I love to see the temple
We all drove to Mesa so Laun could go to the temple. While he was doing that, I took the kids to the Seagull book store and bought them some stuff, including CTR rings. And when Laun met up with us he surprised Porter with a nice set of scriptures and had Porter’s name put on them.
They love the Christ statue in the visitor center.
My parents came and met up with us for dinner at Olive Garden.
The kids always tend to crowd around Laun. We had to wait awhile to get seated, hopping place.
That’s Clayton’s blurry thumbs up about dinner and of course Marlee chose to sit by Grandma.

making good use
With Christmas recently passed and Marlee’s birthday just several days ago, Marlee has a lot of new things. She has really been enjoying her new gifts and she seems to put them to use daily…
She and her doll are wearing their matching dresses that Grandma Turley sewed.
Making muffins with a set Grandma Lucy sent her and one of our fresh chicken eggs.
She used up all of her pink bath fizz.
Laun got her a basket for her bike for her birthday.
She wore another dress-up from Grandma Turley out to eat and to grab an egg from the chicken coop.
And she got these cute little ice cream cups from her friend Hailey that she was excited to use. The nice thing for me is that she has been staying pretty entertained with her new things.

My baby girl is 5 years old!!!
How did this happen so fast?! I can’t even believe she is 5 today and going to kindergarten next school year! Crazy!
She was pretty excited about using the cream cow this morning and picked one that we recently got from Andy and Elizabeth. I think the cream cow count might be somewhere around 30 now- which I find ridiculously cool. And you know she’s just pouring that milk for show. This girl hardly ever drinks milk, unless she needs a cup to dip her cookie in. Shortly after she got a glass of water:)
The simple joys in life.
What a shocker…she asked for crepes. I don’t even know why I bother asking my kids what they want for their birthday breakfast anymore, they seem to always request crepes.
Who can resist something with real whipping cream, I cant.
Marlee has yet to master how to eat a crepe without making a mess…
After church we had Andy’s family over for dinner. Marlee chose cucumbers and rice for her birthday dinner- seriously. So I made a meal that we all love with rice, adabada (pork tacos) and threw in a side of cucumbers.
Andy made some awesome fruit juice-pop stuff, it was amazing
Marlee and Josiah are so cute.
Marlee got sung Happy Birthday over the phone by my parents and loved it.
I didn’t bake any cake for this birthday. For preschool you can only take store bought treats. For her party yesterday we got a Costco cake and today’s cake was a free offer from Bashas. Sweet deal for me since I don’t love cooking when I’m pregnant. And Marlee could care less as long as it is a pink cake:)
She opened gifts from us and her grandparents today.
She got coloring stuff and clothes.
When I found these princess lip glosses with glittery caps and a tin case I couldn’t resist. It’s funny how before I had a girl I thought this stuff was lame, but now I love it because I know how much she will love it.
I think it’s funny that I can get her underwear as a gift and she couldn’t be happier. I guess anything with princesses on it are awesome.
magnetic dolls
My mom made her some cute dress ups. Which I forgot to take a picture of, but I’m sure you’ll see photos of her wearing them later. She sewed an orange dress with beads- Indian style and she also made her a dress and one just like it for her little doll.
Grandma Lucy sent her a box with lots of goodies. Marlee loved how many fun things were in it. She was so excited as she pulled out each item.
5 Things I love about Marlee:
1- Her laugh
2- She’s girly, yet tough
3- Her facial expressions and hand motions when she talks
4- Her desire to learn
5- Her love of going to church and watching Bible movies
