apple picking  

I think Porter is confusing apple picking with apple bobbing. 

He also has a strange way of picking apples.

I was wishing I could buy these baskets along with the apples, so cool. The man who sells the apples said they used these baskets as kids to collect chicken eggs.

These apples were so tasty.

Just ask Carter.

It looks like fall in the back of my Tahoe- Fresh cider, a pumpkin and freshly picked apples.

The kids stayed out on the pond for hours, boating, paddling in the paddle boat and fishing.

The paddle boat is my favorite, plus you get in a good workout.

I was excited to drive our new truck today.

After dinner some of the parents took all the older kids to the corn maze, Clayton and Porter had a great time.

Our Chevy truck quit working last night (hopefully we can get it running again), while we were driving  to the Larsen's. Luckily, Ryan came and let us use his truck for the night and this morning Laun and Ryan went truck shopping. Here’s our new ride (the only new vehicle we’ve ever had)…

And what a shocker, it’s white. Besides our red car we had a long time ago, all our vehicles have been white.

bear hunt

The boys went on Laun’s bear hunt in the Blue.

They didn’t see any bears, but they had a good time hiking.

They stopped at the Alpine Grill for a late dinner.

goodbyes are hard

Today was the kids last day of school in Tucson.

We’ve really loved Manzanita Elementary and we will miss it there.

We came up with a Family Mission Statement. It gives us plenty to work on. It got kind of wrinkled with all this crazy moving stuff going on, but here it is…

pack it up

This weekend we’ve been packing. I hate packing, but I’m excited to move.

We took a break and got some drinks. I loved this apple soda.

Carter was a big help with moving the furniture.

Laun had the great idea of moving all our big pieces of furniture to the living room and that way we have a lot less work to do on the big moving day. That guy is a genius I tell you.

It’s also General Conference weekend, so we thought we should start a tradition of making ribs and they were divine. The package had 3 racks, so we took meals to 2 other families tonight.

What a lucky boy and we are so blessed with the greatest gift of all, Carter!

long day

Carter got an MRI of his noggin today. He had to fast, since he was going under anesthesia, poor baby! He kept busy playing with cords:)

And then he decided this whole not eating food thing was lame.

Good news- the MRI showed that everything in his head was just fine and he could head home.

 

Tonight we went to the Mesa Temple. Laun took Clayton to do baptisms for the dead for the first time, while I took the other kids to the visitor center and watched a great movie about eternal families and cried (happy tears). I just love that I have a 12 year old who can go inside the temple now and I love that his dad got to take him for the first time and I’m thankful for this eternal family of mine- more than anything in the whole world! I love the temple, especially the Mesa one, since that was where Laun took me almost 14 years ago to become his bride.

WE stopped by the Chinese Cultural Center on the way home for dinner at their buffet. They had boxed up all the leftovers for the night, so that’s what we got. We took it to my parents house to eat before heading back home. I think the kids will be tired tomorrow at school, late night.

Clayton is playing the French Horn again this year. He had a concert tonight.

We went out afterwards for ice cream to celebrate.
