Christmas day

We spent Christmas with the Larsen family. John and Jennette have been so good to us. They have  played Santa Clause this year for our family. I am so grateful for them and their kindness.

The boys are such fun ages for Christmas. They got what they asked for this year. Clayton got a remote control car and Porter a tool shop.

The boys loved the stocking stuffers.

Clayton loved the big Hershey kiss.

Laun got slingshots and marshmallows for all the Hall and Larsen kids.

 

John got the boys a 22 gun- they got spoiled I tell you.

For lunch we had prime rib. I am so sick and can’t taste a thing, huge bummer.

Then we went to Ryan’s house and Laun cut up the deer meat with Ryan.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve dinner was at Ryan and Kami’s house.

The cousins acted out the nativity:

Clayton was a wise man and Porter was a shepherd.

We went back to the Larsen’s house and the boys got in their new pj’s.

Show Low- family time

Laun got back from the Iowa deer hunt on Saturday…so glad to have him back. While he was gone we had a great time visiting with the Hall families.

My parents and Rachel came to Show Low last night. It was good to see them. We went to Cooper’s grave today.

I think Cooper’s headstone looks pretty surrounded by snow.

My heart brakes for Porter. Since we are moving he has to give away his Alley cat. He is going to give her to Janae’s family…at least he’ll be able to see her again.

Arizona bound

I guess the long drive from Idaho to Arizona made Laun a little loopy or he just likes to make his hair crazy to get a good laugh from the kids:)

We left Idaho at 3am this morning and got to Show Low at 5:30pm. Then Laun left for a deer hunt. The boys and I are staying at Jennette’s house.

Porter’s preschool teachers

Today is Porter’s last day at the Preston, Idaho Head Start Preschool. We are moving and then he will go to preschool in Utah. He will miss his friends and teachers. I have enjoyed volunteering so often in the classroom. This is precious time to me.

Should one eat a donut as big as their noggin? Clayton thinks so. He earned a treat from the Stokes bakery as a school award. He picked out the biggest donut he could find:)

The boys got to sit on Santa’s lap at the Ward Christmas Party tonight.

Porter asked for a tool shop.

Clayton asked for a remote control car.

It is beginning to look like Christmas at our house. We have the lights up, so maybe it is time to take down the fall leaves in the window.

 

I am barely over a month away from having this sweet little girl!

it’s getting cold…

This picture was taken two days ago on Saturday from the upstairs bedroom.

Today it looks like this:

I had a doctor appointment today and the baby is looking good. I also told Cecelia Benson (who owns the Benson home) that we will be moving out in January. The heating bill is just too expensive. The home is over 100 years old and it has a hard time retaining heat. The heating bill is around $700 a month! I won’t miss the home that much, but I will miss the yard/land horribly.

upstairs

The upper level of the house has 3 rooms. They remind me of the three bears…one room is small, one is medium and one is large. Laun is doing the painting prep work on the medium room today and his little helpers are close by.

The shape of the ceiling is so old school.

 

This is the large room. I  was told that Ezra Taft Benson and his brothers all slept in this room. We use it as the toy room. It has a big pillar in the middle of the room and two windows.

The closet is where we store dress-ups and the other door is the entrance into the bedroom.

The smallest room is just full of our storage.
